“The Elevator Speech”

ot any plans for the
weekend?"
asks the stranger in
the elevator.
"My wife and I are taking our
kids to the zoo,"
she replies,
holding her breath.
Curiosity or
condemnation,
she wonders.
"Sounds like fun. My kids
loved the giraffes. Do they
still let you feed them?"
he
asks.
"I think so."
Relieved, she
exhales and smiles.
